Open Access Manuscript Processing Charges


**Apply for an Elgar Open Access subsidy**

As part of our commitment to the dissemination of knowledge
Edward Elgar Publishing is offering to subsidise the Open Access
book publishing charge (BPC) fees on a limited number of high quality
single authored scholarly monographs.

The subsidised Open Access fee is currently set at £6,500/ $9,500
(plus applicable taxes)



To qualify manuscripts must be single authored, scholarly
books of less than 80,000 words. Authors must have a strong international publishing record.

We are looking for titles of the highest quality that fit with our current publishing
programme and are likely to make a global impact on a field
of research, and have the potential to reach a wide audience.


Application process

Authors should contact the relevant Elgar commissioning editor
at an early stage in the writing process to indicate their intention
to apply for the subsidy.

Acceptance for publication is subject to a formal publishing
proposal being completed by the author, acceptance by Elgar editorial review, external peer review and by our editorial board.


Open Access Scholarly Monograph Book

Elgar standard fees for publication of Open Access Scholarly Monograph are as follows:

Standard scholarly monograph pricing

Up to 80,000 words £9,000/ $14,400 (plus applicable taxes)

80,000 -100,000 words £10,250/ $16,400 (plus applicable taxes)

100,000 -120,000 words £11,500/ $18,400 (plus applicable taxes)

120,000 -150,000 words £12,500/ $20,000 (plus applicable taxes)


Open Access Journal Articles

Fees for publication of an Open Access journal article are as follows:

An author processing charge of £1000 per article (plus applicable taxes)
